Rossello goes "Radical"
Puerto Rico's former governor and current candidate for that post, Pedro Rossello has announced a shift in strategy in obtaining Puerto Rican statehood as a means of ending the islands centuries-old colonial dilemma. The former Governor now says that it will be necessary to take a page from the lessons of the civil rights movement of the 1960's "I believe," Rossello has stated, "that history is clear in the need to demand your rights rather than merely assuming a passive posture." According to Rossello, Puerto Rico's quest to end its territorial status also mirrors the suffrage movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries which ultimately recognized the right of women to participate in the nation's political process through the act of voting. Furthermore, the governor now believes that the the topic of Puerto Rico present colonial status has to be more effectively brought before international forums, as well as, within the halls of Congress. This is by no means a new ideal. There are those who have long argued that the issue of Puerto Rico's decolonization is in fact a matter of civil rights. For some who have argued in favor of the islands statehood the phrase "Estadidad Radical" or "Radical Statehood" has emerged. For its proponents, statehood need not be seen as a gift to Puerto Rico, to the contrary, it is something that Puerto Ricans have earned several times over through, for example, their service to the nation as members of the United States armed forces. A question that remains unanswered is how would the other members of the civil rights movement see this approach to Puerto Rican decolonization. Is Rossello willing and able to form and nurture the necessary alliances that such a strategy would require. For example, will the nation's largest Black civil rights organizations, such as the NAACP, see the Puerto Ricans struggle for equality similarly to their own, or will they see it as more competition for a finite amount of resources? Moreover, would the nation's largest Hispanic sub-group -Mexican Americans - join the Puerto Rican cause? Without a doubt, the key to success lies in the Governor's ability and willingness to extend beyond San Juan and Washington D.C. Important alliances must be created and nurtured that will be able to influence the members of Congress is adopting the appropriate self-determination legislation that Puerto Ricans have truly earned. The Citizens Educational Foundation (CEF) has long recognized the effectiveness of this strategy. In fact, CEF has long embarked on creating alliances with grass-root as well as grass-top organizations. It was through these alliances that five state legislature, including those of California, Texas, and Florida, adopted resolutions supporting Puerto Rico's right to choose its ultimate political status. Time will tell just how radical Rossello is willing to become. COMMENTS: ““The mission of the United States is one of benevolent assimilation.””

They have a hard time understanding why they should assume responsibility for something as basic as their personal self-defense. The only way that Statehood-COMMONWEALTH programming will ever amount to anything is by much higher level programming languages and supporting specialized, with multiple dynamic intrusive characteristics that can be applied to all its components. The people of this commonwealth have the sole right of governing themselves as a free, sovereign and independent state. This coming New Statehood Estado 51st for Puerto Rico can’’t be compared to past phases. Our conclusion then is, that the Federal government has full and exclusive jurisdiction over all the Territories of the United States; and that the native inhabitants of those Territories are citizens of the United States and subject to HER jurisdiction. That they are en shielded by the Federal Constitution and entitled to all the privileges and immunities guaranteed by that instrument to persons and citizens of the Union. In a political instrument, the term exclusively possesses a collective, inclusive, and social sense, and is never used to describe a number of men in a state of nature. The people are a collective being. No people or communities have ever been composed in the United States, except by the inhabitants of each state, associating distinctly from every other state, by their own separate consent. Thus people in each state was constituted, and these separate communities confederated, first by the instrumentality of their separate governments, and secondly by the separate authority of the people composing each state. Common consent is necessary to constitute a people, and no such consent, expressly or impliedly, can be shewn, by which all the inhabitants of the United States have ever constituted themselves into one people. Consciousness has to cohere with intelligence. Statehood-Intelligence cannot be. The matrix should not dictate the conclusion to you. We have been lately rushing rapidly toward the gulps of consolidation in decolonization. It makes us sincere, and it makes life very much alive! But then this power is a spherical sovereignty, and it is an appendage of sovereignty to annex conditions to its grants."Without Commonwealth-consciousness. Yet consciousness CAN be . . . without intelligence. To try and separate Puerto Rico from the New 51st State of the Union is fighting a lost corpus sprit battle, and a sure way to ultimate frustration. Because we see ‘‘[Commonwealth-statehood ] and Borinquen as opposites instead of as polarities, we've become afraid. It sounds strange, but Puerto Rico is part of the 21st century American life. 51st Star-Commonwealth, Statehood included, the whole U.S. of A phenomenon. Statehood is a blessing in disguise. It gives meaning to our American alive. New states may be admitted by congress into this union." Such is the whole power. Such is the recent construction of the words quoted. The meaning of the word "state" is first to be settled. Let's face it. Our Borinquen structures of Government are inept, corrupt, and short-sighted. To be blunt, No one in the NPP/PPD Administration has the vision or the brains, and our government does not have the coordination, to stage such an elaborate scheme. If they were smart enough to pull it all off, why weren't they able to cover their tracks better? Money and power are not enough of a motives, since there are far easier, and far more profitable ways to get rich. Well yes I agree NPP/PPD admin. and politician are just puppets of the network that is really corrupt. That would be the first step to trace them. Will they let themselves be revealed? Not without trying to eliminate you first. How we get to them. That's what we need to develop a strategy far more complex than theirs to develop enough power to bring them to justice. Often these expectations of value have been used to rally the believers to actions that are completely contrary to their natures and interests. Those networks might be found if you trace the weapon's industry, oil industry, drug lords, major religions and cults. We destroyed kingdoms and empires. This is a brief preliminary contribution to critical rethinking of one aspect of the status quo campaign, aiming to improve our continuing efforts to develop independent politics. Statehood-Consciousness is not situated somewhere within the MAP_BODY. It’’s the other way around: the map body is situated within statehood-consciousness. You go beyond thoughts and concepts into life itself. Your American life becomes existential in Borinquen, USA. A different past or future sets a direction, and it will attract experiences in the present 50 states of the American union; that will match as well as possible. The associated inhabitants of each state, or the unassociated inhabitants of all the states and US. Territories This question is an exposition, either of the ignorance or the design of construction. We the people may expect, that our abilities to handle that, will improve also. I really think we do. I really think we have nothing to be afraid of. I understand we want resolution to the questions. The future is uncertain. Very uncertain. But we can't abandon values like "freedom" because we're afraid. The fear will always be there. The question is "What does we want to become? What do we want to bring into being?" From there we can put in controls to manage us to our real goals. Not put in controls to manage us around some imagined evil. Quite a different way of thinking. Personally I always felt that a party system in and of itself is a flaw. It just divides the nation into an "us" and "them" mentality, while restricting that person in powers freedom, casting votes as what’’’’s best for the party as opposed to the country in an endless battle to control, or regain control as the majority in power. This is because we have only a two party system, NPP>PPD Bicameralidad hence PR and THEM. If third and fourth parties could happen, we would see greater diversity of thought in our Borinquen government. Also, by purging the Capitolio of San Juan of all incumbents, as I suggest above, you will be able to finally get real campaign finance reform. The people in our San Juan Capitolio aren't very smart. They are mostly composed of Politician Lawyer people that can't get a job in the competitive private sector. And the few smart dedicated ones, such as the Palo Viejo of the gov, are in there desperately trying to educate the morons that strut around calling them "public servants." It's pathetic. Until and unless this happens, we will continue to be a plutocracy, a Borinquen government controlled by the corporate/rich NOT the People. The only power the People have left is to literally AXE everyone in Capitolio of San Juan with the vote and pray that the new people that take office will not be motivated to continue blocking real campaign finance reform -- as the current congress ALWAYS manages to do one way or another no matter how many times a new bill is introduced. Once real campaign finance reform is enacted, TERM limits can be enacted as well. New people in Capitolio of San Juan, having less of their lives invested in a Non-Intelligence IQ career, will not be as RAPACIOUS about retaining power. Under these circumstances, I am postulating, voters will more easily be able to break the back of the plutocracy that's stolen the American Dream from the general population. This is the plan in fact." Yes, at the very least we live in a plutocracy at this time. I think the We the People of Borinquen will have to set up a referendum that by-passes Congress and amends the Constitution. The new Amendments need to do the following: 1. STATEHOOD+++++. I don’’t expect you or any of the other ranters to listen to this, the facts speak for themselves if you opened your eyes. I will bet you they will almost always answer YES. Thus, this person is actually YOUR potential enemy when push comes to shove. This is why Americans MUST act NOW, to avoid this in our soil, Puerto Rico, USA. If this doesn't work, the only remedy which will eventually be left to the American People will be a full-blown, bloody revolution. No matter what,we cannot put our heads in the sand...My only point was that I believe that without a REAL wake-up call, not just movies, evidence and the like, I mean a catastrophe that levels our playing field (figurative for loss of way of life), no one will respond until it is too late. Anyone that tells you different, ask them this one simple question: Do you work for the government, local, state or federal in any way, directly or indirectly? Make a mental note. Your Puerto Rican government has been hijacked by a bunch of despicable criminals who are printing up endless money (Banco Gubernamental) and spending it as they see fit to further their own unconstitutional ends. Wake up, Boricua!! vote them ALL out now.(1) The very first thing you must do is: A true test of leadership is a person's ability to think about the future and, when appropriate, begin preparing others for a new future. Here in Puerto Rico, USA. Like Hitler, ROSELLO was not elected by a majority, but was forced to engage in political manoeuvring in order to gain office. Like Hitler, Ros$ello has increased his popularity with INDEPENDENTISTAS conservative voters by mounting an aggressive public relations campaign against Funtuno BY WINNING NEXT ELECTION. They did not win anything. They stole it. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be. They might also, however, be used for more purposes that are nefarious. That is the sad status quo of the PR, hijacked by thieves and despots driving it into the ground for their own personal gain, of which I am sure you are already profiting . . . at least in the short term. Still, here goes anyway. It is so typical of someone who cannot accept losing to blame all sorts of things. Just as Hitler cited international Unit4ed Nations to justify Decolonization, Rosello has used the sale of the Puerto Rican Telephone Company and the so-called Axis of Evil to justify our current economic clash buildup. Paradoxically none of the causes and presumably the rest of the economy on a trickle-down basis. Like Hitler, Ros$ello displays great populist enthusiasm in his patriotic speeches, but primarily serves wealthy investors who subsidize his election campaigns and share with him their comfortable Virginia lifestyle. As he himself jokes, he treats these individuals at the pinnacle of our Borinquen economy as his true political ““““base.”” Just as Hitler did for Germany, he takes pride in his ““““providential”””” role in spreading his version of Descoloniziosm throughout the world. Like Hitler, Rosello promotes a future Puerto Rico order that guarantees his own nation’’’’s hegemonic supremacy rather than cooperative harmony under the authority of the United States of Americas). Once Rosello was elected, many leaders of these programs learned to dread his making any a type of appearance to praise their success, since this was almost inevitably followed by severe cuts in their budgets. Like Hitler, Rosello repeats lies often enough that they come to be accepted as the truth. As perhaps to be expected, they indignantly accused others of deception and evasiveness after signing documents with Ruben Berrios, Norma Burgos and Carlos Pezquera not last Charlie Rodriguez to remove the U.S. Navy From Vieques forcing Roosevelt Road, Navy Base to close and 6TH Army to transfer to another location. As soon as one excuse for the war was challenged, Rosello advanced to another, but only to shift back again at another time. Rosello and his representatives argued, for example, that they had taken every measure possible to avoid the exodus of the Navy from, Vieques during the 9/11 (intensify) the terrorist threat against the U.S., All of this was false. Like Hitler, Rosello and his cohorts emphasize the ruthlessness of their enemies in order to justify their own. Just as Hitler cited the threat of communist violence to justify even greater violence on the part of Germany, the Rosello team justified the exodus of our armed forces from Vieques. Without regards to the high crime and homicides terrorism occurring in Puerto Rico humanity over the past twenty-five years. Like Hitler, Rosello takes pride in his status quo as a ““““President of the NPP, ““”” and his Borinquen ambition makes him perhaps the most dangerous Governor in our nation’’’’s history, a ““““rogue””””an executive capable of waging any number of illegal preemptive decolonization wars. A true test of leadership is a person's ability to think about the future and, when appropriate, begin preparing others for a new future. Actually, there is no single point in time that we can call the singularity. If anything, it is the point where the rate of change, if charted as geographical map line on a graph, would be going straight up. We're close to that now. I like the idea of the algorithm doing all the work. The question in my mind is: Can we the people strike a balance between what we want with this status quo and what we can live with before we drive ourselves to extinction? Sorry for all the simpleton questions. Indeed, our best knowledge tells us all these things are achievable, even if it is far far over the horizon. Do you need a rule/rules to define the picking of the winner? For example best performance decided by a Congress judge panel? In this case any arbitrary random action would not survive unless the Congress judges feel it is good dancing? If so, do you think we run into difficulty when trying to define selection rules for say, working out the human mind, or the statehood micro state Borinquen? I mean how do you define the rules of task force selection in the very complex scenarios? Ruben Berrios & FAS you could make a very strong case that 51st * Star future will not be delivered in time for any of us to be included in it, but none of this pessimism says that molecular manufacturing or artificial intelligence or the conquest of senescence is impossible. Should we all just give up, crawl into a corner and die? Or should we consider Statehood's future a legacy for Puerto Rico future generations that we can work toward? Pointing to our CURRENT state of knowledge in neuroscience and acting as if we will never ever improve upon it is bloody stupid! Where would WE THE PEOPLE be if past generations had thought 'communicating in realtime with people all over the world is just impossible' or 'performing surgery without inflicting pain is pie in the sky' or 'air clean of smog will never happen' and just sat on their apse moan moaning? We should look for the truth somewhere in the middle. A modicum of skepticism is healthy, but if I was a negative as Ruben Berrios DECOLONIZATION METHOD I would be suicidal! Healthiest approach if you ask me. Note that this definition has nothing to do with creating a paradise on Borinquen. It is simply an acknowledgment that human cognition has its limitations and that these might be surpassed by technology, just as the speed of the fastest animal is no match for supersonic jets. It is the here and now created by that process. It is recorded to become the past and speculated about to try and foresee what is likely to happen in the future. There is no way of knowing where we are on the map graph at this point, regarding this feature. Exponential growth does not rule out the possibility that 51st star life will be accomplished two hundred years from now. As you know, an exponential growth starts REALLY SLOW. Who said we're over the slow region for statehood American life? There is also a fine print which says: "Any irregular move, will be counted as - 'I surrender!'.”” Statehood-Consciousness, in my view, is the combination of all these things taking place as a continuum of internal processing. The mind decides immediately that if we continue to cross the street in front of that oncoming car, we are likely to be hurt or killed. Statehood-Consciousness, in other words, is the total output I see in this complex, vestiges, a continuing quest for a kind of a faux working-class authenticity and a reaffirmation continues to have much to tell us about puritanical asceticism. The supposed inherent evil of cars offers an example of the prejudices that prevent from planning realistically for 51st states. With today's more advanced technology, including computers, plastic swipe cards, and Global Positioning Systems, fleets of publicly owned pollution-free "white cars" could be easily available to users, providing the marvels of door-to-door city-to-city travel pretty much on one's preferred schedule without toting one's stuff from one mode of transportation to another, and with severely cut congestion. Shouldn't we give such solutions some experimental attention -- both for themselves, and as a suggestion of how to achieve the fruits of modernity in socially better ways? So it's not clear whether the real limits of what our Puerto Rico TAINO Nation can produce cause the ascetic complex, or whether the status quo’ ideology comes first, a priori, focusing attention on the limits rather than the possibilities. What ever became of the notion of planning -- figuring out how to accomplish social goals, especially with newer technologies? Are there problems with my "white car" proposal? If so, could we, rather than simply opposing cars, figure out how to experiment with and overcome these problems? Could we imagine developing actual expertise and -- dare I say? -- our own experts, rather than leaving these matters to the experts who work for the bad guys, corrupt Puerto Rican politicians as we inevitably will if we simply abandon the field, out of hostility to planning and to expertise. These ideas should not be misread as technocracy, Sovietism or elitism. NPP leftists put nails in their own coffin and lag far behind Cuban leftists when they fail to recognize the possibility of socially responsible planning. Similarly, our failure to propose modes of development different from those offered by IMF-WTO and the rest leaves the Third World underdeveloped, lacking things they want that we don't think they should want or have. Who will want to join with us if we eschew modernity and instead advocate a romance of backwardness, Spartan living and underdevelopment? Descolonialism and the Virtual Colony, as I will show, will not get us to the Big Rock Candy Yunque Mountain that so many have longed for. Puerto Rico is not a Colony. Puerto Rico is a territorial of Unites States period. Now can they be U.S. citizens without statehood? It might legislate over the class of free Puerto Ricans, for some useful chaos purpose. That is the issue. It could not be correctly used as a vehicle of power, either external or internal. I can recollect nothing which might not, according to the doctrines advanced, be made an object of exclusive legislation by congress. We the people believe that Puerto Rico is nota a Colony, but a territorial of a USA call commonwealth. However we do not believe in ELA ela is just a Spanish concept that does not equal to the commonwealth both arte separate American terms. If we are to depart from the letter and spirit of a written instrument, and search for the intentions of the makers thereof, in the journals, newspapers, debates, and partisan representations of the sayings and doings of those who participated in the making of the instrument, it will become nectary to remodel certain other rules of interpretation. The language of all these sacred, civil authorities, is carefully chastened of a word, at discord with their purpose of imposing restrictions upon governments, by the natural right of mankind to establish societies for themselves. I like to think of commonwealth-evolution as highly intelligent on its own time scale, but without the definition of statehood-intelligence as simply problem-solving, I can't do that and the brilliant solutions that commonwealth-evolution can come up with become unexplainable. How does it do that if it has no intelligence? Now, if the programmed task is to take care for the integrity of the program also . . . we are mathematically safe. To an arbitrary degree. And it is equally true, which no State or nation can affect or bind property out of its territory, or persons not residing within it. No State, therefore, can enact laws to operate beyond its own dominions, and, if it attempts to do so, it may be lawfully refused obedience. Such laws can have no inherent authority extraterritorially. The more aware the mind gets in this transcend-and-include growth, the more it encompasses the immediacy of its predicatement from which its memories and anticipations unfold. That is the issue. And all this playing around isn't going to solve the task force puzzle problem, because United States is determined and understand that constitutionally. And therefore, that is the only solution that we the people can find. Can I conceive of something that is intelligent and not conscious? Under this supposition it follows, that sovereignty or self-government is natural right, and that governments cannot participate of either, because their rights are all conventional. This opinion is so firmly fixed in our Borinquen Taino Indian country. However, in some cases exterior politeness may subsist with internal contempt, or verbal concession with practical disavowal, that I may safely assume the principle, that the right of self-government, and sovereignty also if it came from God, resides in the people. This being a natural right, like the right to our own labor, no existing generation can deprive another of it, and convey it to kings or governments, upon any better ground, than it could decree, that the heads of all future generations, as fast as they arrived to manhood, should be taken away from them. If no conventional act can deprive man of life, liberty and property, and if sovereignty in governments had this effect, it follows that sovereignty cannot be conventionally established. That whether gentlemen deduce it from this source by hyperbolical inferences, or from a divine origin, it is still a useless, foreign and perplexing word to our political system. But supposing the rights of sovereignty and of the self-government to be inseparably united with each other; and that a number of men assembled to exercise one right, are also invested with the other; yet I see no reason why they may not establish a government with limited powers, and retain this imaginary sovereignty if it is real; and instead of uniting with these limited powers, the indefinite powers of sovereignty, agree that they will be subordinate to their will, restricted by their constitutional mandate, and liable to their revision. This was actually done in the establishment of all our constitutions; and as these conventional acts, far from bestowing sovereignty on governments, have actually retained it in the hands of the people, if it existed at all, and if sovereignty may have a conventional origin, it is so deposited, I will therefore disregard the distinction between the rights of sovereignty and of a self-government in the progress of this enquiry, and in accordance with common language, use the term "sovereignty" as an attribute of the right of a self-government, and only applicable to the people. The difference between the right of self-government, and the sovereignty of governments, is very material. Under one principle the people bestow limited powers; under the other, they receive limited franchises. All apportionments are of necessity artificial and all of nature is ultimately a seamless web. I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived by the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union, one and inseparable established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. We elect people who use "words" to get elected and somehow think they won't use "words" to keep the positions of power and faked supremacy in place and keep the status quo . . . It is really because too few people understand the language which everyone uses with so much mediocrity . . . ? Is it *so* *hard* *to* *sees* that *language* is the primary problem with its dual nature and multilateral interpretative meanings so fluently misused by the meager minds of politicians and people in power to keep their position as the prominent directors of so much public attention? Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living. This IS a typical, though sad, example of what Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):"How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?" Senator Glenn (D-Ohio): "I ask you to go with me .. . as I went the other day...to a veteran's hospital and look those men ... with their mangled bodies . in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job!
