Puerto Rico Disappears as a Presidential Campaign Issue

January 4th, 2008

Once again, the United States comes face-to-face with another general election. During the next eleven months, the American people will once again determine who will lead this country for the succeeding four, possibly eight years. Concurrently, Puerto Ricans will also be deciding who will be elected Governor, as well as, the Resident Commissioner to the U.S. House of Representatives. However, while in years past the issue of Puerto Rico’s political status with the United States received some attention from the presidential candidates, this time around the candidates have been mute regarding this important – yet ignored – national issue. In fact, none of the leading presidential candidates include any mention of Puerto Rico’s political status on their respective websites.

This year marks the 110th anniversary of the U.S. acquisition of Puerto Rico as a result of the Spanish-American War of 1898. Yet even after all this time, Puerto Ricans still remain a disenfranchised people. The attention of the country has been focused on the states of Iowa and New Hampshire, two states who’s total combined population of 4.1 million people is only slightly larger than Puerto Rico’s four million residents. Yet, the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico do not have the opportunity to participate in the process that elects their national leaders. Furthermore, as mentioned above, none of the leading candidates include Puerto Rico’s political status as an important issue even though Puerto Ricans have contributed more than $200,000 thus far to the various campaigns.

The Puerto Rico issue thus continues to represent a challenge to the American ideal of self-governance. This nation cannot continue to expect the respect of the world when it comes to the issues of human and civil rights, if it insists in ignoring the Puerto Rican status dilemma. It remains ironic that military servicemen and women from the island of Puerto Rico have fought and died in the current wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as in previous U.S. military campaigns, yet remain unable to exercise representative democracy in their homeland. How do we explain that to the world?

Recently, the President’s Task Force on Puerto Rico’s Political status reiterated what many have been saying for quite some time – Puerto Rico remains a colony. It remains the case that while in 1952 Puerto Rico was given a designation as a “Commonwealth”, in reality there was no real change in Puerto Rico’s relationship with the U.S. While “colony” is not a nice term and most Americans would cringe at the notion that the United States of America has among its midst a colonial possession, there is simply no other way to describe the current political relationship. Given this reality, it is irresponsible for any presidential candidate to ignore the continued pleads of the overwhelming majority of the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico who are yearning for the day they can accurately say that they are truly a part of a democratic political system.

    Who is Barack Obama?

Very interesting and something that should be considered in your
    choice.

If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to all
your contacts…this is very scary to think of what lies ahead of us
here in our own United States…better heed this and pray about it and share it.

We checked this out on “snopes.com”. It is factual. Check for yourself.

    Who is Barack Obama?

Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born
in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM
from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHEIST from
    Wichita, Kansas.
Obama’s parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two
years old, his parents divorced. Hi s father returned to Kenya. His
mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.?
When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocate to Indonesia. Obama
attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a
    Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is
quick to point out that, “He was once a Muslim, b ut that he also
    attended Catholic school.”

Obama’s political handlers are attempting to make it appear that

that he is not a radical.
Obama’s introduction to Islam came via his fa ther, and t hat this
influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned
to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct
    influence over his son’s education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham,
introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school
    in Jakarta.

Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim
terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since
it is politicall y expedient to be a CH RISTIAN when seeking major
public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined
the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he
DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.

Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor
will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands
over their hearts, Obama t urns his back to the flag and slouches.

Let us all remain alert concerning Obama’s expected presidential
    candidacy.

The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
out, what better way to start than at the highest level – through the
President of the United States, one of their own!!!!

Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man leadi ng

P.S. Here is my criticism, first in summary: Descolonialism Virus and the Virtual Colony made by certain politicians abstemiously turned their backs on people’s reasonable and deeply human longings for abundance, joy, cornucopia, variety and mobility, substituting instead a puritanical asceticism that romanticizes hardship, scarcity, localism and underdevelopment — a traditionalism that blinds us to the possibility of statehood for Puerto Rico. WHY?? That is why THIS is Puerto Rico, USA America. We the Taino American Indians dont Beleive in Descolonization period, we the people also dont believe that puerto rico is a COLONY, please show me in the Costitution of United States were does it say that? Puerto Rico is a Nation and a Territory of Us of A Equality starts with recognition of EACHOTHER and an open analysis of the pros and cons of each value system and way of life! ” Where in the Indian treaty or in the Constitution of our United States mentioned that our bORINQUEN IS A COLONY. Can you specify the paragraph in our Federal Constitution or any Indians Civil Right clause? Of course your can!! because It not true! “Descolonization will harms our international reputation and it puts in doubt the sincerity of our Federal government in dealing with our own internal statehood claims, agreements and arrangements with the aboriginal U.S. Citenzen WE THE PEOLPLE of this american country.” USA also will opposed the declaration because it believes it conflicts with the American Indians tribes of Rights and Freedoms, which the government believes already protects the rights of aboriginals. “I think they’re afraid of indigenous people having some measure of control of our own statehood processes, of our own institutions, and dealing with our own laws within our own territories” Thats why I again repeat that we need more USA Media involving here in Borinquen, In addition we the Taino people need more local news to be in English languages or other languages at least so that way we can know more about the real. Really political reality. A well-informed person can make more wisely and educated decision. STATEHOOD always will be the most wise option for Borinquen, but more important for USA national security. The FCC should be protecting the rights of US. Americans and not making it easier for huge corporations to make more money with NPP, PPD. PIP money funds generated by this corrupt practice or the Puerto Rico MEDIA acting like Bad propaganda Agents of that malignant and virus antisocial behavior. Our first priority is ensuring the American people get a wide range of diverse viewpoints in BOTH LANGUAGES.” Again, diversity in TV programming in general, is not the issue. It is the diversity in MAINSTREAM ANTI-AMERICAN LOCAL NEWS PROGRAMS produces in SPANISH that is seriously lacking advantage in English language. We the TAINO people of Borinquen believe this to be a pragmatic and implementable solution for most of our Borinquen society. These wrong political propaganda can upset the check & Balance of the Task Force. This basically proves that the intellectual capacity of the average Puerto Rican TV viewer should be of concern to anyone who cares about our future as an American nation. This job of presenting REAL information is CRUCIAL for any democracy. All these elements mentioned affect the OUTCOME or the TASK Force or any scientific and technical valid option to resolve finally in good faith our political dilemma.”Please consider me one of the many who are listening with great intensity to those that are in view of requires some statehood-intelligence hiding from status quo intelligence searchers potential. Time to educate and stand up for the rights of the INDIVIDUAL while maintainnig the MINIMALISTIC governing forces of a well thought out English system of governance. This is just good common sense, not bad taste – I’ve just happen to say it out loud. I want to protect the fundamental culture that FOUNDED a free american nation, if only because NO ONE ELSE, OR CULTURE KNOWS BETTER. Ya Don’t. “Where there is a free press the governors must live in constant awe of the opinions of the governed.” – Lord Macaulay (one of many stirring quotation on the sacred role of the Fourth Estate adorning the lobby of the Chicago Tribune) Conspiracies, vote fraud, media frauds, hypnosis, butterfly ballots. End results though is you lost, the guy who supports a free Government Primarias won? . Exaggerated? Or consciously invented? That is the claim, but if as you status Quo, Like Hitler, Ros$ello has increased his popularity with INDEPENDENTISTAS conservative voters I quote by mounting an aggressive public relations campaign what many have been saying for quite some time Puerto Rico remains a colony… BY WINNING NEXT ELECTION. Just as Hitler cited international United Nations to justify Decolonization. Just as Hitler did for Germany, he takes pride in his providential role in spreading his version of Descoloniziosm throughout the world. Political promises have become synonymous with lies. Now, we have a moral obligation to deliver, finally, to the Americans of Puerto Rico, the blessings of liberty and democracy which General Miles proclaimed to have brought upon arrival of the United States in Puerto Rico in 1898. This can be accomplished through a federally authorized a new 51st States for American union. Like Hitler, Rosello promotes a future Puerto Rico order that guarantees his own nations hegemonic supremacy rather than cooperative harmony under the authority of the United States of Americas). Again, That is why THIS is Puerto Rico, USA America. We the Taino American Indians dont Beleive in Descolonization period, we the people also dont believe that puerto rico is a COLONY, please show me in the Costitution of United States were does it say that? Like Hitler, ROSELLO was not elected by a majority, but was forced to engage in political maneuvering in order to gain office. They did not win anything. They stole it. That is the sad status quo of the PR, hijacked by thieves and despots driving it into the ground and using incostitutionally the descolonization of Puerto Rico, and by Borinquen media force for their own personal gain, applying tactical delays from the Macheteros and Independentistas groups by creating fear an exit evil-maignant virus that Puerto Rico is a colony. Fist, if we want and end to terrorism, and economy crisis created by present politicians we the Taino People of Borinquen, we the people need an end to Puerto Rico bad politicians Rosellohernandezberrios tyranny – in its dictators mafia [PUNTOS} form AND its democratic/capitalistic local form! Extraordinary, status quo STUPIDITY claims require an extraordinarily, status quo Stupidity proofs. This may be a quite weak limitation. Extraordinary statehood intelligence claims require statehood intelligence extraordinary proofs. The aim is holding multiple simultaneous perspectives, and of course choosing the path of least resistance in a build. Rosello has used the sale of the Puerto Rican Telephone Company and the so-called Axis of Evil to justify our current economic clash buildup. Paradoxically none of the causes and presumably the rest of the economy on a trickle-down basis.”Vote fraud is always possible” and in fact the evidence strongly suggests that this be what indeed happened, then your “point” is merely an unsubstantiated claim. Here in Puerto Rico, USA. We the people of Borinquen have been literally invaded by a foreign power that does NOT honor our system and demands the use of all our resources. You know whom we are talking about (International Bankers & Corporations). Second, immigration controls! No, not some half measures, but a complete change in our paradigm. SHUT IT DOWN. NOW.
Therefore, we the people should begin now to assess the design requirements for an “Advanced Borinquen Statehood-Civilization. I see these new factions pulling it apart, all the while demanding their “freedoms” and sucking off the wealth accumulated over the last several generations are not a purist or some haters of other cultures, certainly, but I demand respect for MY country Borinquen, Puerto Rico, USA.

I suspect such clarity is like finding true love. And on that day, we begin to learn to apply that one moment in an eternity of practice.

What better use technology than mutual understanding and openess.

Peace and Love to you ALL.

I’m amazed by the Commentary that starts with P.S. and identifies him(her)self as a Taino from Puerto Rico, I’m sorry, Boriken.
I read every word you said and finished so tired that I had to take a nap before writing these lines.
I would say your style is a “que dijo?”.
    Remember Cantinflas monologs?
You beat the cap out of him by a mile!
Claiming to be a Taino Indian 500 years after they, a great culture, disapeared OR blended into what we are today… Puerto Ricans, to then say your are Puerto Rico, USA, makes me think about the posibility of your
“21st Century Tainos” claim special privileges from the U.S. Federal Government for your Native American condition.
To finish my presentation, the issue here was to bring out, once more, the truth about our 3rd Class American Citizenship, as we do every Presidential Election Year.
We give these blood suckers, Democrats and Republicans, considerable sums of money, which they receive and immediately turn their backs on us and return to the Mainland where the votes really count.
They will remember us again, Islanders, for the next elections 4 years from now,… and bleed us again.
    The never ending story!
Tano Rican, thinking twice about your Native American “status”, you might get more from these politicians than what Puerto Ricans, citizens of the United States, residing in the Archipielago of Puerto Rico, will ever get… real Justice… through Equality!
Who said mombo-jumbo-crap doesn’t produce benefits!?
    What is our next name?…
    Boriken, USA!?

“Despierta, Boricuas. El indio Taםno vive hoy.
(Awaken, Puerto Ricans. The Taםno Indian is alive today.)

Hmmm. Haven’t encountered you here before. Another alias, perhaps? Perhaps we could simply talk, back and forth, instead of you continuously posting stuff you read elsewhere, so that you don’t have to respond to my points. You can’t actually expect many people to read that mumbo jumbo. I’v read most of your posts, and it looks to me as if really really hate to admit that Iraq is on the road to democracy and freedom. Anybody who calls Borinquen, USA a fascist nation needs to just slow down and, well, breath.

What, specifically, do you dispute within the posts that I have made? Applying a simplistic and insulting label to them, instead of addressing specifics or presenting contrary evidence, is simply DISINFORMATION. Perhaps you can answer my questions … ?

Hey, you can label me and my opinion until the cows come home, but until you’ve actually addressed my concerns, specific points, or presented contrary evidence, then you really haven’t said much of anything.

Indeed, the Rosellos administration maybe has recently reluctantly admitted paying three conservative commentators to sway public opinion in favor of its policies!? Worshiping democracy may be fashionable but democracy is only a means to an end and not a be all and end all. At the end of the day, the only relevancies are the cash in peoples pockets, the freedom to enjoy it, and the smiles on their faces.

Any system of government, which provides its citizens with all that they need and which keeps law and order while respecting human rights should be admired. But I guess with friends like the five mentioned above, who needs enemies, eh?

“Wanna know my answer to that?”

I also think this refutes much of what these people said in order to paint the Resistance as something other than it is. It just seems that if these people, who never actually admit incompetence where they are actually guilty of it, are admitting incompetence, it’s to hide something deeper than that. This really demostrates the weakness of your position, and the fact that you agree with my P.S. Analysis of the report. But as you continue reading, the seemingly altruistic reasons for this election as portrayed by the Ro$sellos Administration and trumpeted by most mainstream religious media are anything but. But then, what kind of work can a Taino Indian get who is unable to compete using the language of the country he immigrated to? I think that, more than anything else, explains the appearance of foreigners controlling certain industries. It’s people finding an economic niche in which they can survive with the skills they developed before they came here or have cultural ties to others who have already found success in a foreign land. “You know that quote by Ben Franklin? “Those who would trade liberty for a little security deserve neither liberty nor security”.” Do you enjoy regurgitating the master’s message? Be an individual; ’cause that is the true definition of freedom. Oh – the US isn’t a democracy by the way – it’s a Republic. Big difference… Think about it.

Why fight the reality of existence on this tiny, insignificant planet of microbes and high-thinking apes? Admit that you are afraid that dark giants or American Indians walk the earth and you are but a brief moment of life that will leave no mark on our Borinquen, USA history. What more is there? God? Puerto Ricos Politicians specially in the NPP no longer make decisions based on the facts, or even what they believe to be right. Becuase of this legal bribery, they now work in the interests of corporate “friends”, that violate the basic rights and safety of the majority. – Hardly democratic. We the Taino American from Borinquen USA understand that issue very well!!!
Reforming campaign contributions is the most important step in restoring democracy to our systems. Even the politicians themsleves know this. that’s why they always pay the issue lip service at election time – and then quickly drop the matter altogether. In a democracy, puerto rico campaigns should be funded with equal amounts of public money, so that the best and brightest rise to the top, instead of the wealthiest and most connected.

If all you can do is repeat the same, stale, Disinformation BS, while I consistently refute your statements with sources other than the false Prophets San Juan Capitolio, or tightly-controlled ALL Puerto rican media, and facts “on the ground” which demonstrate where your statements are in error, then you don’t have much of an argument. I too once shared your once naive mentality, so don’t be offended with the tone of my writing! I only seek enlightenment and I hope that you do too. There is nothing ‘democratic’ about the current political process in Borinquen, USA. We’ve been over this. These PROVEN LIARS are LYING to you again, laughing all the way to the International banks. Yo soy Boricua Paque tu lo sepas. I never denied my roots, entiendes?
So I have the following questions regarding this new Tainos study: 1) Where are we in terms of the cost of this study? 2) How much longer will the study take to complete? 3) Why was the option of deleting the statehood option not included as part of what this task force should study? Last but certainly not least; 4) who benefits from the decision once the taino study is complete and will those benefits favor the taino people of Borinquen and their archeological new found discovered areas? “The land is sacred. These words are at the core of your being. The land is our mother, the rivers our blood. Take our land away and we die. That is, the Indian in us dies.” – Mary Brave Bird….I could go back my friend in time and talk about the almost extinct Taino Indians. “Being Indian is an attitude, a state of mind, a way of being in harmony with all things and all beings. It is allowing the heart to be the distributor of energy on this planet; to allow feelings and sensitivities to determine where energy goes; bringing aliveness up from the Earth and from the Sky, putting it in and giving it out from the heart.” We always return to our first loves. – Tribe Taino

Tell me, what is your ideal system? What do you think we need to change? How do we fix this mess? I am proud of my heritage: recognize the strength of holy spirit in all of us, and more forward everyday thanking God that he made me a Taino indian a proud puertorican and a proud american as well. And I always tell everyone when I die, I want to comeback again as a Puerto Rican, U.S. Citizenship. Que viva Borinquen, US of A y que viva and all Boricuas!! Do you?

Although most of the historians sustain that Tainos people were exterminated by Spaniards by the 17th cent., Contrary to many stereotypes, however, ..today in Borinquen (Puerto Rico) exist a Taino reservation with natives from that area. Our extinction lies at the end of the road they are leading us down. Until few years ago, some countries denied the existence of Native people in their territories and in many cases, Native people denied their origin due to the pressure of society who consider them “uncivilized”. In my opinion the estimated numbers are very low, in one of my presentations, I further explain my position. If you don’t like what you read, please move on to the rest of Your Journey, and make it as good as it can be.
On the other hand, Taino Native Americans believe on the Creation of the World and the Indian people. Many not different stories of the creation of Indian people are handle down to the new generations. Borinquen is the Tano name for Puerto Rico and it means La tierra del altivo Seסor, or The Land of the Mighty Lord. Native Americans do not believe in the Bering Strait theory and even some of us consider that theory very offensive.

The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.
    – (Henri Bergson)

But one should never determine h history based on consensus. By consensus, I interpret the meaning to be: the popular history perpetuated by the mediocre media, universities (establishment), and what the borinquen masses believe. Perhaps you would agree that equally important will be that people have knowledge, that the democracy of knowledge too expands to become statehood universal. That will be the best guarantee for putting knowledge to good use. Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the NPP/PPD, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in trying to descolonize Borinquen, USA is very common. These politicians tend to use the most common religion in the borinquen nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government’s policies or actions. The corrupt politcians in Puerto Rico almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental anarchy power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. Yes we taino people of borinquen, US of A do want to end life-threatening disease in this Puerto Rico, because we need better controls over our lives and deaths than slow, horrid, painful and expensive degenerations. Have you ever seen first-hand the effects of an unfortunate condition like that, or how indiscriminately they take 51st Star* Statehood-life? Tell me how Puerto Ricans will avoid drastic change if our entire borinquen is converted into a nucleonic nano/femtotechnological computing/matter-sysnthesis network over the course of a few minutes?

Perhaps, since Borinquen Taino historic events are so numerous and complex we need a new 51st Statehood databases to figure out what actually happened. The new 51st Star* could thus be the adjudicators of justice. We the people simply take every account of some historic event that resides in the memory banks of ever person that witnessed it, and feed this data into a massive data base and then instruct the Statehood-Technological Database to interpret it: Weed through every story, check every fact, align all motives, throw out inconsistent data and observations, check all events against time, make sure no relevant facts have been omitted, make sure everything is in a logical sequence, make sure nothing trivial has been given undue importance and nothing important has been considered trivial — you know, really interpret WHAT happened. Then maybe the Commonwealth-Statehood could assign a probability to every event and every dynamic sequence.

Lets that Hitler or Rosello Taxes deform Creature or even Castro as an example how did he become what he did become. One must remember that a single human is incredibly complex. Complex from a genetic viewpoint, complex from an environmental development viewpoint. What you are today is decided by trillions of trillions of factors, from genetics to environment development factors. Presently, in Borinquen We the people will always live in a world of subjectivity and uncertainty. So dont dismiss historical analysis,it still provides great insights into the truth and of the nature of humanity. Given the evidence, in our Borinquen, continuing to maintain that this phenomena is based on “spamming” or “hacking” by a few active supporters calls into question the competency of your judgment and that of your news gathering organization. This tired explanation might still play well to those who are used to getting information spoon-fed from major media outlets, but as the Internet grows, the size of that audience segment is shrinking fast. To put up a poll where the respondents are self-selected and then attack it because it fails to mirror the results of polls where the respondents are not self-selected is just dumb. IF you truly are “American” and really want to make this country proud and BETTER, do something instead of simply propping up the lies because you are ashamed to admit the truth.

In what sense are we the taino people of borinquen a pure capitalist society then?

What is necessary for technology to progress at the fastest rate possible is for everyone to be able to achieve their potential; ie Borinquen, USA is not nearly perfect because the Borinquen local elected politicians never fight for their costituyents in washigton for the right to vote for the president of United States only you see the topics before a big election never in the PAPELETA of the NPP for this because of the unemployment rate and the number of people that have jobs that are not directly contibuting to the productivity of borinquen society. The more people that are taking care of the day to day tasks, the more are free to expand their mind, go to uni, etc. Well, get around to it! Understanding many things on this board is helped by consistently and logically understanding the non-aggression principle. Meaningfully answering a question dictates that you understand the terms well enough to answer. If you know you need to research the terms before answering, it’s best not to answer until you have researched the terms. I’d love to hear why I’m wrong, but I don’t want to hear why I’m wrong from someone who doesn’t understand the root concepts. If you’re in favor of the initiation of force, and don’t get the implications that entails, then I really don’t want to hear the bad meme socialist blathering. I most want to hear from people who start at the same starting line —the initiation of force is currently morally and practically wrong—, and come to a different finish line. example: Although a legal non-aggression principle is right for humans, we should build a commonwealth-statehood 51st StAR* before TERRORIST figure out legal justice, for this reason: ________.) Another problem with let Puerto Rico to vote for presidential candinate is that takented wscientists who make a breakthrough can get diverted into making profits..snatched out of research by invetment offers, and stop making breakthroughs in favour of makig profits. But yes, the right to vote for the president and vice-president in our Borinquen IS necessary for a positive singularity, for it finances small tech breakthroughs, and even medium sized ones. I think this is more likely. I don’t think I’m any more intelligent than most people, but I think I’m a hell of a lot more intellectually honest than most people. I also think I’ve seen a lot more of the legal system than most people here have. The people on this board are no different from a random sampling of American people: they have a real problem with intellectual integrity/honesty.

See, where do NPP/PIP govs get the money they need to RAPE you, even when you refuse to pay them TAXES? Well, for those of you Blokes who have been asleep on this forum since 2004, I’ll say it again: they get it by BORROWING. They BORROW money. Get it?! They don’t RAPE it out of you, they BORROW it out of you. Makes you feel more loved. Better than having it RAPED out of you or TAXED out of you, no. So RAPPED = TAXED. Alias IVU.Oh, speaking of blood, did I mention, they also need YOU to fight wars for them as well, for what better way for the GOV, the NPP, to “justify” its very existence of FORCE and “indispensability” than WAR. BOOM BOOM BOOM, but YEP you can not vote for the President of United States. It’s as if the Puerto Rico corporate MEDIA, in it’s arrogance, has already determined who should be the Governor of Borinquen by braking the good people of puerto rico to vote for presidentin this election. I thought the responsibility of the media was to inform the public about what’s new, bring out the new and different, look out for the folks, provide a 360 degree view, stop the spin … you know present the NEWS. What’s NEW. Speaking out for smaller government, and actually MEANING it, is totally NEW, isn’t it?

I thought people wanted CHANGE. Isn’t change NEW? Like voting for the President of United States.

How do you get CHANGE when all you do is listen to OLD.

How can People of Puerto Rico allow Channel 2 & channel 11, 13, 12 07 52…radio Bemba and 99.9999 or the spanish radio station including Schools books and newpaper in our Borinquen to only ask the same OLD questions of the same OLD candidates? Alias IMCUMBENT? Shouldn’t the People demand that the FCC revoke religious’s broadcasting license on the grounds of fraud? Doesn’t Religious represent themselves as a NEWs channel. Seems like a false representation to me and seems like all Politicians ares an accomplice to this fraud.

Should the constitutional right to vote for a President or Vice-President for Puerto Rico be sued in the Supreme Court?

I think it’s time Americans realize that THEY own the SPECTRUM and AIR through which the TV networks transmit their signals of deceit. Thus the Public should DEMAND that either the Networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX, WB) serve the REAL public interest OR have Congress revoke their broadcast licenses. And just like the people that worked for Adolph Hitler: saying “I’m just doing my job” is no excuse when you are supporting fraud by keeping silent about the good americas living here in this U.S. Territories not allow to vote for the President Of United States. Get it Rosello? Get it Charlie Rodriguez? Get it Norma Burgos? Get it FONTS? I believe it holds back progress. I believe that people assign values to the state that are nonexistent, because they desire a legitimate authority where none exists. I believe this is one of the most destructive tendencies of mankind, and that even the most reasonable among us (attention, Anibal Acevedo Vidal!) fall prey to at least a partial error of thinking in this regard. This view largely explains the opposition to capitalism among the lazy, parasitic, the misled, and the morally compromised. It also explains their desire to mislead greater numbers of people. It also explains why they have always been effective at doing so, by preventing our Borinquen to vote in presdential elections given the random distribution of intelligence, and the necessity of specialization district electorate.

My view also explains the necessity of spreading beneficial memes and logical constructs that defeat the spread of self-destructive memes. That’s why I am always encouraging people to to not vote for IMCMBENTS I have read that contradict my real-world discoveries the least we help our Boriken, USA to vote for the President. I cannot give others my real-boriken discoveries, unless I catalogue my own experiences. Luckily that immense task force is not required to understand the concepts I am promoting. The strong should therefore TAKE USEFUL ACTION to prevent these wrongs from being perpetrated in their name. It would be very cowardly to do otherwise. Moreoever, the whoever restricts more presidentail voting rights efforts than it subsidises. It does so by operating under the blessing of the people that it gains in part by ineffiently “giving back” some of the resources that it steals. Instead, why not steal nothing, and get slightly different, vastly more moral results? Why not decentralize the majority of defensive technology, and place the burden of personal responsibility on the people who can actually prevent terror in the first place?

There are 4 millions of american in this huge boat who want that responsibility, but it is very likely they will be attacked by their own government (not al-qaeda) if they exercise that ability to vote for the President. When those institutions fail to grant the right to vote for ALLs Puerto Rican, in Next presidential election idiots everywhere grant them more power and authority, believing that the reason for the failure was a lack of funding and authority (ignoring the fact that they are currently totally above the law, have been for years, and have taken trillions of tax dollars using the status quo as another masquerade). Sounds democratic to the and/or gates. The human sets the logic, not the chip set. So the Constitution will be amended to give a boricua set voting rights or as you are actually stating, that star is the future ruler of mankind. You already have set the precedence that decisions will be made as the box chooses. There is nothing “off-topic” whatsoever about this subject the right to vote for the president of U.S. It is perhaps the most relevant and timely subject on the board, especially after the recent passage of the “Military Commissions Act”.

Yes, I am trying to provoke presidential discussion (as are all people who post new topics), because I am actively interested in the results of the discourse they generate. In good Englis: Porque estos lideres que ustedes mencionan no hablan del voto por el president en Puerto Rico, o mejor porque no lo ponen en la proxi ma papeleta??? I am also interested in catching the attention of powerful engineers’ minds, that are possibly so preoccupied with research and technology that they do not notice the cliff (descolonization-socialism and tyranny-descolonization) they are, by default, walking towards. For those who disagree with this narrow and limiting view of existence, my headings exist. Please, “redakteur” stop trying to limit conversation by doing the thinking of others for them, and encouraging small-mindedness on an open-minded pre-singularity commonwealth-statehood board.

“Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved”. (Bryan, William Jennings, 1860-1925, American Lawyer Politician)

Puerto Rico Governor to endorse Obama

Mike Allen passes on word that later this morning Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Governor Anibal Acevedo-Vila will announce his endorsement of Obama.

There are 63 delegates are at stake in the state, which is the last to vote on June 7.

Along with playing a role in Puerto Rico — if we ever get there — the planned endorsement is a boost for Obama with Latino voters, where his campaign thinks endorsements can really matter.

  9. Viktor Says:

    “One America Initiative,”
A Native American Indian President for US Of A can makes a difference in any year’s presidential election. From the environment to e-trade, Native Americans are taking great strides in the United States. In November, We the People celebrate the culture and contributions of the first Americans. The first Americans, the native American Indian should have the rights to become president of United States, to discuss race issues in Our Land America . . . anytime, anywhere. It asks Indians to forget and it says to the rest of us in this country, never mind what happened, it was all in another place and another time, forget all of this . . . move on.

The idea of “One America” is on the face of it a pleasant thought, until one lifts the corner of this pleasing fabric to reveal the ugliness of this country’s relationship with the members of the First Nations. It is as if in unifying, melding, homogenizing the different cultures in this country one will be able to erase from the collective memories of its citizens, the death and destruction of the past. But we the people can be allowed a Native American, Indians are President of the Own Nation. Right?
It says to the people of America, forget the intricate societies of Indigenous people, forget the gifts of knowledge provided by these people to all of us. Indian people suffer from the general ills of our society as do many other cultures. There is poverty, sickness, hopelessness and too much death. In addition to these problems I see the problems facing Indian Nations as very different from the problems and solutions talked about by this board. This board addresses not one issue that is unique to Indian people, nor do I think that it is capable of doing such. Among all cultures in this country, Indians are singular in that:
No other group mentioned besides Puerto Rico here needs to deal with the concept of sovereignty and sovereign rights constantly under attack by Congressmen and many State Governors, or with mineral and water leases or with reservation land or with legal jurisdiction on reservation land.
No other group has been victimized by broken treaties, numbering more than 300 and the attendant loss of land and rights to a way of life much older than any other in this country.
No other group can speak about slave genocide and the slowly rolling tide that for 550 years has swept this land in an effort to eliminate the Indian Nations that include the Taino Indians.
No other group has fallen victim to the devastation of Manifest Destiny, the destructive descendant of the “Doctrine of Discovery”
No other group must carry a “card” to indicate a blood quantum, in order to be considered a member of that group.
No other group is owed billions of dollars by a government agency that can’t account for where the money went.
No other group has had rights assured by treaty only to be attacked on all sides by the amorphous concept of the Plenary Powers of the United States Congress. But, you never see a the first Americans, not even one, running to become president of United States, to discuss race issues in Our Land America . . . anytime, anywhere.
If past performance is an indicator with the governmental mind, this board like many others is window dressing, a distraction, a sham that will accomplish little.
Those Politicians can travel the planet giving encouragement, financial support and kind words to others in other countries while the running festering wound that is the embarrassing relationship of the United States government to the Indian people continues to grow at home. What group, what agency, what advisory panel will finally recognize this gross example of injustice and disrespect . . . ? The Native American Rights Fund law suit against the BIA was initiated in the summer of 1996. There has been no settlement, no effort to return to Indian People the money that is theirs. The heads of the DOI past and present have been held in contempt of court for refusing to deal honestly with the court.
To quote a line from Eliot, “Hurry up, please, it’s time . . . ”
Obama has weighed in against legislation supported by other CBC members that would cut off federal funds to the Cherokee Nation. The CBC is upset with the Cherokee for excluding Freedmen descendants of slaves once owned by tribal members from tribal membership. Obama has said that he disagrees with the decision, but opposes cutting off funds to the Cherokee, saying tribes have a right to be self-governing.
To most black lawmakers, the move by the Cherokee Nation smacked of racism and discrimination. But many Native Americans see tribal membership as an issue of sovereignty and resent any federal intrusion.
Chairman Joe Brings Plenty of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribes in South Dakota said if Obama had sided with the CBC on the issue, it would have weighed on Native American voters minds.
It would have been costly, Brings Plenty said. If Congress is allowed to step and just rearrange the constitution, what is going to happen to our constitution? The seriousness of the issue is that comes down directly to interfering with the nations.
Obama easily won the two South Dakota counties where Brings Plentys reservation is located on Tuesday, although it wasnt enough for him to win the entire state. He also benefitted from strong wins in Indian counties in Montana, where he did defeat Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.).
According to Obamas advisers and supporters, a number of states might go Democratic in this years general election because of Native American votes. They cite Montana, a state where more than 6 percent of the population is Native American. It has voted Republican in the last several presidential campaigns, but Obama trails McCain by an average of only seven points, according to polls monitored by RealClearPolitics.
Another example cited by Obamas supporters is North Carolina. While its population is only a little more than 1 percent American Indian, it is seen as a swing state where Obama might be able to edge out a narrow victory.
If Obama had sided with the CBC, Brings Plenty, who has no position on the substance of the Freedmen dispute, said he would not have retracted his endorsement but would have requested a meeting with the senator to offer his perspective on the issue.
Brings Plenty isnt alone in praising Obamas position on the Cherokee issue. Indian Country Today, a Native American news service, praised him for meeting Indian issues head-on, even where they could put him at odds with other voters.

It was smart of Obama to put out a position. Im glad hes on the record. This is something tribes definitely want to hear, said Lillian Sparks, a member of the Rosebud Sioux and executive director of the National Indian Education Association.
The CBC reaction has been less positive.
In an op-ed in The Hill, Rep. Diane Watson (D-Calif.), Who endorsed Clinton for president, said the Democratic front-runners statement on the Freedmen shows he is without a clear understanding of the issue.

What Sen. Obama fails to understand is that the Freedmen issue is about treaty rights, not tribal sovereignty, wrote Watson.
Obama has taken other positions to win over Native American voters. He backs more education and healthcare funding for tribes, and has promised as president to hold an annual meeting with tribal leaders and to hire a senior White House aide to handle Native American issues.
At the heart of his campaign is the need to be inclusive, particularly for communities that have felt they have been left out. For Indian Country, that resonates, said Keith Harper, a Cherokee member and partner at Kilpatrick Stockton who heads up the Obama campaigns 50-member Native American policy advisory committee.
Obama has met with tribal leaders in five states so far, including Tuesdays Democratic primary states, according to his campaign. He also held a conference call with tribal leaders from across the nation in July 2007.
Brings Plenty soon started hearing from Obama campaign aides in October 2007 about an endorsement, although his nearly 16,000-member tribe is based in South Dakota and was not voting until June.
I was surprised because he had knowledge of native issues even then, said Brings Plenty about Obama when listening into the conference call. When I found out [former Sen. Tom] Daschle [D-S.D.] was one of his advisers, I knew thats why he knows.

Brings Plenty endorsed Obama personally in November 2007 and later had a tribal resolution passed officially supporting the senator in February this year.
Kalyn Free, a member of the Democratic National Committee and Oklahoma super delegate, was disappointed when Obama did not attend an August 2007 Native American forum also skipped by several other candidates. But shes since endorsed Obama, whom she said plans to attend a national tribal leader forum hers organizing this summer.
Free aims to hold the forum in New Mexico, the most purple of battleground states, Free said. Indians are and can be the pivotal and the deciding factor on who wins the White House.
To quote a line from Eliot, “Hurry up please, it’s time . . . “The first Americans, and the native American Indian should have the rights to become president of United States, also.
